Taskzen ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

Account data — When you register we collect your name and email address, used solely to identify your account.

Task content — The tasks you type or dictate are sent to our servers to generate AI breakdowns. We do not sell or share this content.

Usage data — We record session statistics (completions, duration) to power your history and streak features.

Device data — Device type and iOS version, for debugging and compatibility only.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the AI task breakdown service
• Maintain your account and session history
• Process subscription payments via Apple In-App Purchase
• Communicate with you about your account or important service updates
• Diagnose technical issues and monitor service health

AI Processing

Your task text is processed by a large language model to generate step-by-step breakdowns. Task content is not used to train AI models and is not retained beyond serving your request. Session history is stored on our servers tied to your account.

Subscriptions & Payments

All payments are handled by Apple via In-App Purchase. We never see or store your payment card details. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

• Infrastructure providers (hosting, databases) under data processing agreements
• Apple, for In-App Purchase verification
• Law enforcement, if required by applicable law

No advertising networks or data brokers receive your information.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and task history are permanently deleted within 30 days.

Security

All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. API tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain.

Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your data in a portable format

Children's Privacy

Taskzen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notice or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
